Callum Simpson (17-0, 12 KOs) is ready to turn Barnsley into the epicenter of European boxing when he faces Italy’s unbeaten Ivan Zucco (21-0, 18 KOs) for the European super middleweight title on Saturday, June 7 at Oakwell Stadium. The event, presented by BOXXER, will be broadcast live and exclusively on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland.

Fighting in front of a hometown crowd at the home of Barnsley FC, Simpson (previously victorious over Zak Chelli in a sold-out British and Commonwealth title bout) now faces the toughest opponent of his career. Zucco, a former WBC International champion, brings power, pedigree, and momentum from Piemonte, Italy.

“This is the biggest night of my career, and I want the fans to make Oakwell a fortress,” said Simpson. Thousands of extra seats are being made available to accommodate what’s expected to be a record-setting non-football crowd at the venue.

The card also sees undefeated English talent Mark Jeffers (20-0, 7 KOs) square off against tough American Sean “Silky” Hemphill (18-2, 11 KOs) as well as Adam Azim (13-0, 10 KOs) returning to the ring to fight Eliot Chavez (12-7-1, 7 KOs). Jeffers has been in fine form since his 2023 win over Zak Chelli, while Hemphill earned respect going the distance with William Scull on the undercard of Canelo vs. Munguia.
