Zhilei Zhang says his team has been waiting more than three weeks for Derek Chisora to sign off on a heavyweight clash scheduled for December 13 in Manchester, England. The bout, expected to feature as part of a DAZN pay-per-view double-header alongside rising prospect Moses Itauma, would mark the 50th and final contest of Chisora’s long career.

According to Zhang’s advisor Terry Lane, Queensberry Promotions contacted them with an offer to face Chisora in what’s being described as his farewell fight. “We were presented with the fight [over three weeks ago] and we accepted in a couple of days,” Lane said. “It’s been well over three weeks since the fight has been accepted on our end, in principle.”

Zhang, who hasn’t fought since a February loss to Agit Kabayel, has remained patient but recently took to social media urging Chisora to finalize the deal. Lane added that both Queensberry and DAZN are fully behind the matchup, which would serve as part of a “twin bill” with Itauma in a co-main event setup.

Chisora last fought in Manchester as well, earning a decision win over Otto Wallin in February in what was also promoted as his “Last Dance.” However, he has since hinted at alternative options, asking fans online to choose between Deontay Wilder, Dillian Whyte, and Jarrell Miller - notably omitting Zhang from his shortlist.

Lane believes only one of those potential names, Miller, remains a realistic possibility. “What I’m hearing on my end is that the fight the powers that be want to make is Zhang versus Chisora,” he said. “It’s up to Chisora to say yes or no, but if he says no, we’ll move on and probably focus back on China again in January.”
