The World Boxing Organization has granted an extension for negotiations between unified middleweight titleholder Janibek Alimkhanuly and top contender Hamzah Sheeraz. Initially, the deadline for the teams to reach a deal was set for Wednesday, after which the bout would proceed to a purse bid. However, promoters Top Rank (representing Alimkhanuly) and Queensberry (for Sheeraz) jointly requested additional time to finalize the agreement.

The new deadline for the two camps is now set for November 4 at 3 pm ET.

Alimkhanuly, a 31-year-old Kazakh who now trains out of Oxnard, California, stopped Andrei Mikhailovich on October 4. On the other side, London’s Sheeraz, 25, is coming off an impressive two-round stoppage win over Tyler Denny in September.
