WBA lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis is now slated to serve the remaining 60 days of his sentence in jail rather than under house arrest, according to recent reports. The specifics surrounding the infractions Davis committed that led to this significant change remain largely unclear.

Per the Baltimore Banner, the court had initially authorized Davis to serve his house arrest sentence at the residence of his trainer, Calvin Ford. Nonetheless, due to cramped conditions at Ford’s home, Davis had temporarily shifted to the Four Seasons Hotel before moving into a high-rise penthouse he’d recently bought for $3.4 million.

The trouble appears to have originated from Davis’ decision to change his location without obtaining the court’s approval. This violation led the judge to revoke his house arrest and instead order him to complete the rest of his sentence in jail. It remains to be seen how this development will impact Davis’ boxing career in the near future.
