On March 11 of 2023 in Paris, France, Olympic gold medallist in super heavyweight Tony Yoka (11-1, 9 KOs) will reportedly square off against former world title contender Carlos Takam (39-7-1, 28 KOs).

Yoka, who is in need of a win, will take on Takam, who is ten years older at 42 years old and is trying to turn things around. Takam should have fought Yoka instead of Bakole last year in 2022, but Yoka injured his wrist. These two will now engage in a battle that should be entertaining and, with any luck, exciting.

In his last fight with Makhmudov, Takam suffered two knockdowns before losing by unanimous decision. It may be argued that Takam looked a little better in his most recent fight than his future opponent did, despite the fact that both Takam and Yoka are coming off defeats.

Yoka, who captured the super heavyweight Olympic gold in 2016, how good is he? The 6’7” Yoka was looking like a puncher before the Bakole beating, quickly dispatching opponents like Johann Duhaupas and Alexander Dimitrenko.

With this fight, a distance contest appears to be a good bet. The judges in Paris will almost certainly take every possible measure to favor Yoka, even though that shouldn't be the case if the fight does reach its limit. In March, whoever wins, let's hope he earns it completely.
