Canelo Alvarez recently stirred the boxing world by stating that Terence Crawford has beaten only one “good” opponent - Errol Spence - in his entire career. According to Canelo, Crawford’s accomplishments in four weight divisions are overshadowed by a lack of tough competition, as he never fought the top-tier names at 147 or 154.

Crawford fired back on social media, saying he’s made his opponents look like “nobodies” and that Canelo’s criticism discredits other solid wins on his record.

The tension has escalated amid rumors that Crawford wants to jump up to 168 for a mega-fight with Alvarez. Canelo himself suggested that “Bud” should earn the opportunity by facing super middleweight dangers like David Benavidez or David Morrell. He argues that if Crawford truly wants to challenge Canelo at 168, he needs to prove he can hang with the division’s toughest contenders first.

For now, the back-and-forth highlights a bigger question: Does Crawford’s spotless record fully reflect his talent, or has he taken too many soft-touch fights?
