The Las Vegas bout for Charlo's four 154-pound titles scheduled for January 28 will now unfortunately take place at a later date. In the interview, Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) said on Saturday that he injured his left hand, which forced him to postpone his bout with Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs).

"I was sparring and I threw this nice punch and as soon as it landed, I knew something was wrong," said Charlo. "I felt my hand throbbing right away. I had two X-rays and an MRI to see what was wrong. It showed it was broken in two places.”

The doctor stated: Charlo's hand is fractured between the pinkie and ring fingers, as well as at the base of the thumb. The accident happened on Tuesday in Houston during a sparring practice. Charlo will rehab his hand after the cast is taken off.

In a May 2022 rematch, Charlo, 32, defeated Brian Castano by knockout in the 10th round to unify all four junior middleweight championships. Last year, Charlo and Castano fought to a contentious draw.
