Ryan Garcia confirmed he received a whopping $30 million purse from his Showtime PPV bout against Gervonta Davis last April. The mega event reportedly brought in $100 million in revenue. Speculation is rife that Davis, who knocked Garcia out in the seventh round, walked away with between $40 to $50 million, which might delay his return to the ring this year.

Oscar De La Hoya, Garcia’s promoter, revealed the fighter’s $30 million earnings and his post-fight net worth now stands at $50 million. De La Hoya, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the agreed-upon 136-lb catchweight for the fight. Some boxing fans questioned Garcia’s match-up with Davis, pointing to Garcia’s track record of subpar opposition.

Garcia’s commitment to improve is evident as he continues to train with new coach Derrick James in Dallas. In contrast, Gervonta Davis, after a run-in with the law, has maintained a low profile since his release, barring a photo shared online flaunting stacks of $100 bills.

Garcia's next fight at 140 holds several options, with a potential title shot against WBC light welterweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero being the easiest path. However, he may need to wait as Romero is ordered to defend against his mandatory, Ohara Davies.
