Referee Thomas Taylor from Newport Beach, California, has been appointed to oversee the light-heavyweight championship fight between unified champion Artur Beterbiev and WBA titleholder Dmitry Bivol.
Taylor is no stranger to high-profile bouts, having recently refereed Erislandy Lara’s win over Danny Garcia and Andy Ruiz’s draw against Jarrell Miller.
Taylor brings experience from notable events, including Junto Nakatani’s first-round stoppage of Vincent Astrolabio in July and David Benavidez’s clash with Oleksandr Gvozdyk in June.
The judges for the event include Glenn Feldman from the USA, Manuel Oliver Palomo from Spain, and Pawel Kardyni from Poland. Palomo notably scored Oleksandr Usyk’s victory over Tyson Fury in May, and Kardyni judged Bivol’s previous bout in Riyadh, where he defeated Malik Zinad. Kardyni was also part of a close contest where Nick Ball won by two points over Raymond Ford.
As for the undercard, the highly anticipated British heavyweight title rematch between Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke will be officiated by Victor Loughlin, with ringside judges Mark Bates, John Latham, and Steve Gray. Wardley and Clarke fought to a draw in their previous 12-round encounter.
Don’t miss Bivol vs. Beterbiev.
