Manny Pacquiao will turn 47 in December, but the eight-division legend still has options at the highest level. After a spirited showing against the much younger Mario Barrios a few weeks ago—holding the reigning WBC welterweight champ to a draw many felt he edged—Pacquiao confirmed he’s not done. While vacationing in Italy, he told reporter Dyan Castillejo his timeline is simple: “This year… in December.”
So who’s brave enough to share the ring? A Barrios rematch makes immediate sense, with plenty believing Pacquiao can build on the first fight and flip the result. There’s also talk of Rolly Romero, who holds a version of the welterweight crown. And then there’s the mega-money tease: Floyd Mayweather. Pacquiao’s stance is clear - he wants a real fight, not an exhibition. Gervonta “Tank” Davis has been mentioned too, though where Tank stands right now is anyone’s guess.

Pacquiao’s longevity is staggering - pro since 1995 - and that Barrios performance suggests there’s still gas in the tank. If he gets the right dance partner, the stakes are obvious: one more night to prove the old magic isn’t gone, or to pass the torch on his own terms.
At 62-8-3 (39 KOs), “Pac-Man” remains a live threat and a massive event all by himself. The date is set. The question is simple. Which name signs on the line - and are they ready for what a motivated Manny still brings in December?
