Queensberry Promotions have added another member of the talented Lugo family to their roster, announcing the signing of teenage middleweight prospect Elijah Lugo (3-0, 1 KO).
The 19-year-old from Marietta, Georgia, reigned as one of America’s most decorated youth amateurs, winning five international gold medals – including the 2024 World U-19 Championships – before turning professional this past April. Guided by father-trainer Mike Lugo and manager David McWater, Elijah has already boxed three times in four months, securing his first stoppage with a fifth-round TKO of Marquis Williams on July 25 in Atlanta.
Like his older brother Nathan Lugo (7-0, 6 KOs), who signed with Frank Warren late last year, Elijah will now build the next phase of his career under the Queensberry banner. The British outfit has been expanding its North-American footprint – recent U.S. recruits include super-lightweight puncher Brandun Lee (30-0, 23 KOs) and Puerto Rican lightweight Yandiel Lozano (1-0) – and sees the U.S. amateur standout as a long-term project at 160 lbs.
Debut details for Lugo’s first outing in Queensberry colours are expected in the coming weeks as the promotion assembles its late-2025 schedule.
