Trainer Greg Hackett has weighed in on the potential matchup between 2020 Olympic silver medalist Keyshawn Davis and Gervonta 'Tank' Davis, describing the bout as a "50-50" fight. According to Hackett, Keyshawn’s Olympic experience, alongside his skills in the ring, would make for an even contest against Tank. Hackett believes that Keyshawn is capable of beating not only Gervonta but also Devin Haney and William Zepeda - though he mistakenly mentioned someone named "Vargas," which likely refers to Zepeda, as there’s no top fighter named Vargas at lightweight.
Keyshawn has previously stated his confidence in beating some of the best names in the sport, including Gervonta Davis, Vasily Lomachenko, and Devin Haney. However, Hackett’s comments come amid skepticism, especially following Keyshawn’s controversial performances in recent bouts, such as his fights against Miguel Madueno and Nahir Albright. Many believe that Keyshawn still has a long way to go before he’s ready for the likes of Tank or Haney, as his mental game under pressure has been questioned.

In his fight against Madueno, Keyshawn seemed to struggle when faced with adversity, resorting to wrestling tactics and fouling after being hit hard. Hackett praised Keyshawn’s ability to adjust, saying, "He got caught with some good shots. I watched him adjust three times in that fight." But for many observers, Keyshawn’s so-called adjustments seemed more like desperation, turning the fight into a rough, physical affair rather than a display of boxing skill.
Despite the criticisms, Hackett remains high on Keyshawn’s potential, calling the matchup between him and Tank a toss-up. He’s also confident in Keyshawn’s ability to handle a fighter like Zepeda, though time will tell if Keyshawn can truly rise to the level needed to compete with the top names at lightweight.
