Undisputed flyweight champion Gabriela Fundora is eyeing a comeback this April, picking up right where she left off after a statement-making seventh-round stoppage over Argentina’s Gabriela Celeste Alaniz back in November. The 22-year-old Fundora, who stands an imposing 5’9” at just 112 pounds, has become one of the sport’s rising sensations. With seven of her 15 career wins coming by knockout, she’s demonstrated a rare kind of power for women’s boxing.

Fundora, the younger sister of junior middleweight titlist Sebastian Fundora, told to BoxingScene that she’s excited to see what the next few months will bring. Co-promoter Sampson Lewkowicz recently suggested an IBF mandatory defense against Marilyn Badillo, a fellow undefeated fighter from Mexico. While nothing’s official yet, Fundora says fans should brace themselves for "a lot of surprises" as she navigates the stacked flyweight division.

The undisputed champ is keeping her options open, fully aware that defending titles at this level comes with new challenges at every turn. Whether it’s Badillo or another top contender, Fundora seems determined to keep proving why she’s widely regarded as one of the best in women’s boxing - especially in a sport still glowing with talents like Claressa Shields, Amanda Serrano, and Katie Taylor.
