Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk's team informed the WBA that they have reached an agreement for an undisputed heavyweight clash on April 29th of 2023 to avoid the World Boxing Association’s deadline and prevent Daniel Dubois from being Usyk's mandatory for his next fight.
As a result, Usyk will not be defending his WBA mandatory against Dubois, which Fury believes would have only earned him $2 million.
The two champions, WBC heavyweight champion Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) and IBF, WBA & WBO champion Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), will fight on April 29th at London's 95,000-seat Wembley Stadium.
Earlier, Fury had offered Usyk a 70-30 split and warned that for each day he delayed accepting the deal, he would deduct 1%. Usyk eventually accepted the offer and requested that Fury donate £1 million to the Ukrainian people after their fight.
