Tyson Fury has set his sights on a potential trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk after their rematch on December 21st. Confident he’ll prevail in the second meeting, Fury envisions a scenario where, if he wins, they’d be tied 1-1, paving the way for a final showdown.
However, Fury's trilogy hopes come amid swirling interest for him to face other top contenders in 2025. His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, who has been instrumental in organizing high-profile bouts in Saudi Arabia, has openly discussed a potential Fury-Anthony Joshua fight next year, a matchup boxing fans are eager to see.
While Fury seems eager to stay focused on Usyk, fans have their doubts about his chances after the close and controversial scoring in their first fight, which many felt was heavily in Usyk’s favor. Although Fury believes he narrowly lost due to an unusual standing eight count in the ninth round, which he claims altered the fight's course, the general consensus among fans is that Usyk had control for the majority of the match, securing an 8-4 win on most unofficial scorecards.
Addressing his future plans, Fury told Sky Sports, "I’d like to have a trilogy match with Usyk because then it would be 1-1. I do exactly the same thing but don’t get a standing eight count in round nine, and I win comfortably."
Still, with so much interest in a Fury-Joshua clash, it remains uncertain whether a third fight with Usyk would materialize, especially if Fury fails to secure a decisive victory in their December rematch. For now, though, Fury appears fixated on settling the score with Usyk, a rematch that promises high stakes and, potentially, a path to an ultimate rubber match.
