Promoter Frank Warren isn't hiding his frustration about the scoring of Tyson Fury’s second consecutive loss to Oleksandr Usyk on December 21 in Riyadh. Despite Fury seemingly fading in the latter half of the fight, Warren believes one judge’s cards were outrageous for not granting Fury any rounds from the sixth onward.

In Warren’s view, if the judge had even given Fury two of those final six rounds, "the Gypsy King" would have won. Critics, however, say Warren is in denial and that Fury, 36, actually looked worse this time than in their first fight, which Usyk also won. Many point out Fury's tentative approach, backing up under Usyk’s pressure and failing to impose himself with the leaning tactics that had worked so well against Deontay Wilder.

"They said he never won a single round after that [the sixth], which is utter nonsense," Warren told BoxNation. "If he wins one round, it’s a draw. I thought he won the fight." Others see it differently, insisting Fury let victory slip away by not pulling the trigger. Fury’s shaky performance in the first fight might have affected his confidence, leading to a cautious rematch strategy that never found its mark.

Still, Warren remains adamant that Fury is "one of the best fighting men" to come out of Britain, vowing to support whatever decision he makes next.
