Charles Martin (29-3-1, 26 KOs) doesn't want to waste his remaining boxing opportunities by waiting for seasoned heavyweights to challenge him.

Instead, the former IBF champion wants to fight a young, unbeaten heavyweight to show that he still has what it takes to contend for titles. Martin said he expects to take on one of the three unbeaten heavyweights later in 2023.

“I can’t get Luis Ortiz or Adam Kownacki back in the ring with me and forget that bitch-ass Dillian Whyte,” Martin said. “He has always been scared to fight me. Deontay and Andy are probably fighting each other, so I have to go after one of the young guys. The three young guys that look decent are Jared Anderson, Daniel Dubois and that Cuban, Pero. I’m gonna clip one of these guys that no one wants to fight to prove a point, that I’ll fight anyone and do anything to become a two-time heavyweight champion.”

The 36-year-old Martin last competed on September 4 in 2022 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, when he defeated Devin Vargas on the undercard of Ruiz against Ortiz.
