Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is gearing up for a significant fight on Cinco de Mayo weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where he will defend his undisputed super middleweight title against fellow Mexican Jaime Munguia. In the lead-up to this bout, during the grand arrivals on Tuesday, Munguia suggested he would try to “out-think” the seasoned Alvarez. Despite being 33 and perceived to be slowing down, Alvarez welcomed the prospect of a physical contest.

Alvarez stated, “I expect [aggression], and I really like it. I like his style, and I hope he’s doing the same because it’s going to be a great fight if he comes with that style.” Disregarding their age difference, Alvarez emphasized, “I’m different. I’m Canelo. My experience, my talent, my intelligence is different. I’m feeling better than ever, and I’m ready for this fight.”

The final press conference saw tensions flare with Alvarez’s former promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, but Alvarez remained focused on the upcoming challenge, “Let the fight last however it’s gonna last.”

This encounter is not just a title defense for Alvarez but a celebration of Mexican boxing, promising to be an exciting clash between two formidable fighters.
