FITE and SHOWTIME held two boxing events yesterday in the United States providing the fans with some unexpected results.
Ashley Sciscente (6-3, 2 KOs) lost to unbeaten female flyweight Jasmine Artiga (10-0-1, 5 KOs) in the main event of the evening at the Kissimmee Civil Center in Florida, broadcasted on FITE.
Corey Marksman (6-0, 5 KOs), an unbeaten lightweight, defeated Adrian Obran (5-1, 3 KOs) in the second round via technical knockout. Female amateur star Kira Tapia defeated Clarice Morales (0-1-1) in four rounds by unanimous decision in her professional debut. Additionally, Luis Cambero (14-8-1, 9 KOs) was pummeled by super bantamweight Glenn Dezurn (16-3-1, 11 KOs) for three rounds before Cambero withdrew from round four.
In the first ShoBox event of 2023 at the Wind Creek Events Center in Pennsylvania, Sean Hemphill (14-1, 8 KOs) was knocked out in the eighth round by super middleweight David Stevens (12-0, 9 KOs). Two seconds remained in the fight when the KO occurred.
Artem Brusov and light heavyweight Atif Oberlton (8-0, 6 KOs) fought hard for an eight-round unanimous decision (12-1, 11 KOs). 79-73, 78-74, and 78-74 were the results. Also, Rosalindo Morales (9-1, 2 KOs) was stopped by the referee in round four of his fight with super featherweight Julian Gonzalez (9-0-1, 9 KOs).
