Yesterday’s fight night featured a series of exciting bouts, headlined by the Misfits Boxing main event between Le’Veon Bell and JMX, and an Irish light heavyweight title fight between Kevin Cronin (5-1-1, 2 KOs) and Jamie Morrissey (5-0-1, 1 KOs) in Galway.

In tonight’s Misfits Boxing main event held in New Orleans, former NFL All-Pro Le’Veon Bell emerged victorious in a four-round unanimous decision over JMX. The judges scored the bout 39-37, 40-36, and 40-36 in Bell’s favor. Despite a slow start in the first round, Bell eventually found his rhythm and dominated the bout, even inflicting a cut near JMX’s eye in the third round. Although Bell was evidently the more athletic and explosive of the two fighters, the bout was not a particularly enthralling showcase of boxing prowess.

In the other event, the Irish light heavyweight title remains unclaimed after a riveting showdown between Kevin Cronin and Jamie Morrissey in Galway. The pair’s sensational performance, just 11 weeks after their first epic encounter, ended in a debated scorecards stalemate, with many believing Cronin deserved to win. Back in February 2023 at the Europa Hotel, Morrissey secured a 77-76 win on the referee's card, claiming his second BUI Celtic title. While both fighters immediately agreed to a rematch, Irish fight fans were treated to a thrilling fight without a winner. Morrissey may be more content with the outcome, having maintained his unbeaten record, while Cronin is left disheartened.

The bout followed a similar pattern to their first encounter, with Morrissey being more effective in the early rounds and Cronin building momentum in the second half. Despite causing significant damage in the latter rounds, it was not enough for Cronin to secure a win on the cards. The fight started intensely, with both boxers exchanging powerful blows and as the bout progressed, Morrissey appeared to be the stronger fighter, but Cronin’s relentless charge in the later rounds had Morrissey on unsteady legs. In the end, a split-draw was announced, leaving Cronin enraged and the largely neutral crowd booing the decision.
