In a thrilling night of boxing at the ProBox Events Center in Plant City, Florida, spectators were treated to a series of electrifying bouts featuring super welterweights and more. Among them in the main event was a matchup between 25-year-old Angel “Relampago” Ruiz (18-2-1, 13 KOs) and 41-year-old former world champion Luis Collazo (39-9, 20 KOs).
During the bout, Ruiz demonstrated his dominance in the ring by dropping Collazo twice in the third round. The defining moment came in the sixth round when Ruiz unleashed a powerful body shot that sent Collazo to the canvas, unable to continue. The fight ended at the 32-second mark of the round, securing Ruiz’s victory. Following this defeat, Collazo, who accepted the fight on short notice, announced his retirement from boxing. The former WBA welterweight champion expressed his admiration for Ruiz’s performance and looked forward to spending more time with his family.
In the undercard, Vadim Musaev (6-0, 5 KOs) emerged victorious with a first-round TKO against Martin Alvarez (7-1, 6 KOs) after the referee stopped the fight at 2:03. Also, in a thrilling super bantamweight bout, Jose “Chapulin” Salas (12-0, 9 KOs) defeated 2008 Olympian Prince “Octopus” Dzani (23-1, 19 KOs) by a ten-round unanimous decision, with judges scoring it 100-89 in favor of Salas.
