Eddie Hearn just dropped a big hint about Anthony Joshua’s next move. According to Hearn, Joshua, now 35, is looking at two major options for a comeback in May or June: a rematch with Daniel Dubois or the long-awaited showdown with Tyson Fury.
Joshua, who has been keeping a low profile since getting stopped by Dubois at Wembley last September, had initially seemed headed for an immediate rematch. Instead, Dubois opted to face Joseph Parker on February 22, and Hearn believes AJ might see the Fury fight as a bigger prize. With Fury’s recent defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, the Joshua-Fury bout now looks more realistic than ever.
Hearn emphasized that Joshua-Fury is, in his words, "the biggest fight in boxing, commercially." But if Fury doesn’t come to the table, or decides to take an extended break, the Dubois rematch could fill the gap for Joshua’s next summer event. "Unless Frank Warren and Spencer Brown come forward to make the Fury fight," Hearn said, "that’s where we stand."
So, will AJ finally meet Fury in the ring, or will he avenge his defeat to Dubois? Fans can only wait and see which route both fighters choose - a mega-fight with huge stakes, or a revenge mission for Joshua. Either way, it sounds like summer 2025 could be prime time for British heavyweight drama.
