The upcoming “Rockin’ Fights” 47 event at The Paramount in Huntington, NY, is set to feature Brooklyn's own Junior "Sugar Boy" Younan (19-0-1, 11 KOs), who will make his Star Boxing debut against the seasoned fighter Ricardo Luna (26-11-2, 17 KOs). This match will see Younan fighting for the vacant WBA Continental USA Gold Championship over ten rounds.
Junior Younan, A Brooklyn native, Younan was a standout amateur, achieving a record of 90-5 before turning professional at 18. He was recognized as a prodigy by The New York Times at just ten years old and has lived up to that billing by securing multiple national titles and being ranked the No. 1 junior boxer in the United States by USA Boxing. In his last professional bout, Younan secured a unanimous decision victory over Ramses Agaton in Cancun, Mexico.
Younan expressed excitement about fighting in front of a home crowd, stating:
"Fighting at home is always special for me. To my friends and family, I’m excited to be able to win this title at home and put on a show for everyone.”
His opponent, Ricardo Luna, is coming off a second-round knockout victory over Alberto Cruz and has faced notable opponents including former world champion Ryota Murata. He voiced his enthusiasm about the upcoming fight, saying,
