Fight Details

Rising star Nikita Tszyu (9-0, 7 KOs) aims to extend his unbeaten streak when he squares off against fellow Sydneysider Koen Mazoudier (12-3-1, 5 KOs) in the main event of a No Limit Boxing pay-per-view on August 28. The bout will take place at the ICC Sydney Theatre in Darling Harbour.

The 26-year-old Tszyu, who holds the Australian super welterweight title, trained in Las Vegas alongside his older brother, Tim Tszyu, who is also preparing for an upcoming fight against IBF world champion Bakhram Murtazaliev in October. As part of his intense training camp, Nikita sparred with undefeated U.S. middleweight Joseph Hicks, who had been in camp with Crawford ahead of his recent interim WBO super welterweight title win. Tszyu also worked with Texan fighter Miguel Hernandez and completed rounds with Rahman, gaining valuable experience and sharpening his skills for his showdown with Mazoudier.

Tszyu is expecting Mazoudier to bring his best performance yet, especially after switching to Complete Boxing, the gym where Australian star Sam Goodman trains.

"Knowing Keegan and the way he trains his fighters, he brings out a toughness in them," Tszyu said, referring to Mazoudier's coach, Joel Keegan. Despite the respect he has for his opponent, Tszyu is confident he can exploit Mazoudier's vulnerabilities. "We’ve seen some vulnerabilities in him, and I’m going to try and exploit those next Wednesday," he added.

The Las Vegas training camp has clearly left Tszyu feeling prepared and capable of delivering another dominant performance. Reflecting on his sparring sessions, Tszyu noted the quality of work he put in with fighters like Hicks and Hernandez, saying, "We did some good work... I was able to have some good rounds with him." This preparation, combined with his recent victories, has Tszyu primed to continue his rise in the boxing world.

The co-main event features Michael Zerafa (31-5, 19 KOs) who seeks redemption following his second-round knockout loss to Erislandy Lara in a WBA middleweight world title fight earlier this year in Las Vegas. Zerafa is set to take on veteran Tommy Browne (45-8-2, 19 KOs), hoping to secure a victory that could eventually lead to a showdown with Nikita Tszyu.

Browne’s career has seen its fair share of ups and downs. After a sixth-round stoppage loss to Leonardo Zappavigna in 2008, he took an extended break from boxing, only to return and continue fighting over the past decade. Despite his experience, Browne has mostly faced journeymen since his return, suffering defeats to notable names like Anthony Mundine and Dennis Hogan.

This fight marks a significant moment for Zerafa, who has recently signed with No Limit Boxing, the Sydney-based promotion that handles the careers of boxing brothers Tim and Nikita Tszyu. The bout against Browne will be Zerafa’s first under the No Limit banner, and he has made it clear that his ultimate goal is to face one, if not both, of the Tszyu brothers.

“I’ve signed a deal with No Limit, and hopefully, once I beat Tommy, I can fight Nikita next and eventually Tim,” Zerafa told CODE Sports. He added that while Nikita Tszyu has the name and hype, he believes there are flaws in his game that a world-class fighter like himself can exploit.

The event also includes a high-stakes clash in the light heavyweight division between Connor Wallace (13-1, 10 KOs) and Jerome Pampellone (18-1, 11 KOs). The winner of this bout will be recognized as the region's top light heavyweight and will be in prime position for a shot at the IBF world title.
