Former world champion Jean Pascal is set to return to the ring on September 21, facing fellow Quebecer Terry Osias at the Colisée de Laval. The two will battle for the World Boxing Council minor light heavyweight title, with the winner earning a coveted spot in the world top 15 rankings.
Pascal (36-7-1, 20 KOs), a veteran of the sport who has held multiple world titles throughout his illustrious career, hasn’t fought since March 2023, when he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Michael Eifert at Place Bell. Now, Pascal is determined to make another push for a world championship title. "This is my last lap," Pascal said. "I promise myself to go to the world championship for a sixth time. Fighting a boxer from Quebec like Terry will excite the local fans, and I’m ready to deliver a top performance."
Undefeated Terry Osias (13-0, 6 KOs) sees this fight as the perfect opportunity to launch himself into the international boxing elite. Coming off a unanimous decision victory over Marcos Karalitzky in March, Osias is confident he can hand Pascal another defeat. "This fight represents a unique chance for me to carve out a place among the world elite. I know I can beat Jean and get my hands on this minor title. I have all the tools I need," Osias stated.
Originally, the fight was slated for July 20 at the Montreal Casino Cabaret, but it was postponed to allow Pascal to join Haitian boxers in their journey to the Paris Olympics.
