Nery, a 28-year-old Mexican former champion, is geared up to make a significant stride towards another title run in the fiercely competitive junior featherweight division. His journey to the top has been marked by notable victories, including a TKO against the then-unbeaten champion Shinsuke Yamanaka in 2017 and a 12-round unanimous decision win over Aaron Alameda for the WBC junior featherweight title in 2020.
