Fight Details

Spanish boxer Samuel Molina (29-3, 15 KOs) is ready for a major challenge as he heads to France on October 19 to face Frenchman Jordy Weiss (32-0-1, 3 KOs) for the EBU welterweight title. The fight will take place at the Espace Mayenne Laval in France, where Weiss will defend his title in front of his home crowd. This marks Molina's second attempt at the European title, and he’s determined to make it count.

Molina, who has been making waves in Spanish boxing, has come a long way since his early days. I first saw him fight in Malaga about ten years ago when he was just 15, and even then, it was clear he had something special. His coach, Alejandro Heredia from Saga Heredia, predicted back then that Molina would make noise in the sport, and he has proven that prediction right.

Over the years, Molina has claimed the IBO Ibero-American lightweight title, the IBF Youth lightweight championship, and three Spanish championships across different weight divisions. His success has solidified his status as one of Spain's top fighters, but at 25 years old, he’s just getting started. The fight against Weiss represents a huge opportunity for Molina to take his career to the next level by claiming the prestigious EBU welterweight title.

Jordy Weiss, the current champion, is a tough opponent who will have the advantage of fighting at home. He’s spent much of his training camp in England, working with his coach Ryan Barrett to prepare for this fight. Weiss is known for being a tricky boxer, and Molina will have to be ready for anything, especially after Weiss's controversial win against another Spaniard, Jon Míguez.

However, Molina will have a strong team in his corner. The Heredia family, including Alejandro and Boris, as well as the legendary Jose Luis Heredia, will be there to guide him. Their experience and knowledge of the sport will be key in helping Molina overcome any obstacles in the ring.
