Miura Boxing rolls its “Mexican heart, international reach” mantra back onto DAZN this Saturday with a crossroads main event that pits Guadalajara slickster Fernando Molina against local power-puncher Gabriel Jimenez in a 10-round lightweight test.
For Molina (11-0-1, 4 KOs) the bout marks his first scheduled trip past eight rounds and his second venture to this intimate venue, where he previously out-boxed unbeaten Abraham Juarez. The 25-year-old southpaw’s résumé already includes an eight-round draw with highly touted Aaron Aponte on the Canelo-Golovkin III undercard, proof he can handle bright lights far from home.
Jimenez (11-1, 7 KOs) counters with regional pride and stoppage pop; the 29-year-old Mexico City native has logged all 12 fights on home soil and went the full 10 in February, earning valuable rounds ahead of this step-up. Miura CEO Mariana Caballero insists no hometown favors were written into the script: “We match competitive fights, not soft touches.”
The undercard keeps the punch-volume high as Querétaro’s durable Diego Mompar (9-2-3, 4 KOs) collides with Puebla knockout artist Fernando “Masas” Romero (12-4, 11 KOs) over eight at 135 lbs - a classic pressure-versus-craft appetizer before the main course.
Miura’s DAZN partnership aims to showcase Mexico’s next wave; Saturday’s clash will reveal whether Molina’s road warrior poise can tame Jimenez’s home-ring fire—and which prospect is truly ready for the “next level” Caballero promises.
