Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs), the former five-division world champion and Hall of Famer, is gearing up for his next exhibition bout. This time, he’ll face off against John Gotti III (2-0, 1 KO), grandson of the infamous organized crime figure, John Gotti. The highly anticipated event, dubbed “Last Name Matter,” takes place in Sunrise, Florida.
Mayweather dedicates this event to the memory of Marikit “Kitchie” Laurico, his longtime assistant who tragically passed away in April.
The main event is expected to get started at 11 pm ET.
The Zeus Network will be airing the full PPV card for a $15.99 price tag.
Gotti, the 30-year-old MMA fighter, transitioned to professional boxing in October 2022 after years in amateur MMA. His boxing career started with a bang, securing a four-round unanimous decision win in his debut. He then returned to the ring in January, earning a first-round knockout victory.
Mayweather, now 46, retired in 2017 with an unblemished 50-0 record, following his technical knockout of UFC star Conor McGregor. Since then, he’s participated in several exhibition bouts, including a 2021 face-off against Logan Paul. In 2022, Mayweather took part in three more exhibitions, including bouts against Deji, KSI’s younger brother, and a UK debut against kickboxer Aaron Chalmers.
In the co-feature, 42-year-old bareknuckle boxing star Ulysess “The Monster” Diaz will rematch popular UK-based fighting star Khalas “BabaYaga” Karim in the 8-round exhibition bout.
Also on this card, world-class heavyweight Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (26-0-1, 22 KOs) will meet undefeated heavyweight Antonio Zepeda (6-0, 6 KOs) in a 4-round clash.
