The much-anticipated fight night, headlined by New Jersey native and middleweight title contender Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (35-5-1, 14 KOs) who is defending his WBA Fedelatin Middleweight Championship against Juan Manuel Witt (33-1-2, 22 KOs), are slated to take place in a 10-round main event in Atlantic City.
The Millville resident has made an impressive comeback following a loss to Erislandy Lara in the WBA middleweight championship fight in 2021. He won his last five bouts, juggled promoting responsibilities, and opened a gym, all while publicly battling depression.
The 31-year-old boxing enthusiast has also been stirring up the boxing scene by battling his opponents in the ring and producing thrilling shows in Washington, D.C., and his home state. His entrepreneurial drive led him to establish his own gym, Pound 4 Pound Boxing & Fitness, in Atco, N.J., only a year ago. In the co-main event, knockout artist Kristian Prenga (13-1, 13 KOs), hailing from Mirdite, Albania faces Santander Sligado (32-15, 26 KOs) of Colombia in a 10-round bout for the open WBA Federcentro heavyweight championship.
The card also highlights the undefeated flyweight prospect Anthony “Big Back” Johns (6-0, 5 KOs) of Newark, N.J. in a 6-round fight. Joining him will be Atlantic City’s own junior middleweight Justin “Time“ Figueroa (5-0, 5 KOs), who faces Jeff Lentz (5-1, 1 KO) of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. Plus, the event will feature the pro debut of super lightweight Sharahya-Taina Moreu, a nine-time National USA boxing champion from Albuquerque, N.M., adding even more action to the night.
