Super-middleweight unbeaten Petr “The Surgeon” Khamukov (13-0, 6 KOs) finally gets center-stage on Friday, June 20, when he meets former U.S. amateur standout David Stevens (14-2, 10 KOs) inside Long Beach’s Thunder Studios. Co-promoted by Paco Presents, Golden Boy and Robert Garcia’s House of Champions, the ten-round main event streams live on DAZN and pairs a methodical 2016 Russian Olympian with a power-punching Pennsylvanian eager to reset his upward climb.
Stevens, 24, turned pro in 2018 on a wave of Junior Olympic golds and made noise last year by out-gunning the unbeaten Sean Hemphill. A razor-thin loss to Bektemir Melikuziev in November stalled the charge, but the Reading native insists hard gym months have sharpened his edge: “I can’t wait to show the world I belong at the top.”
Khamukov, now 33 and training out of Woodland Hills, has logged more than 100 international bouts and carries the calm that earned him the “Surgeon” tag. “There are levels to this game,” he warns. “Stevens is rugged, but I’m here to prove I’m elite.”
Long Beach gets depth beyond the headliner. Co-feature junior-middleweight Leonardo Ruiz (15-1, 8 KOs) meets Los Angeles scrapper Jarrod Tennant (9-4, 4 KOs), while heavy-handed 154-pounder Juan Sanchez (8-0, 7 KOs) trades leather with Colombian veteran Yeis Solano (15-5, 10 KOs). Undefeated junior lightweight Leonardo Rubalcava (9-0-1, 3 KOs) returns in a six-rounder, and prospects Alexis Alvarado, Daniel Cruz, Alexis Espino, Nicolas Robledo and Emiliano Alvarado round out an action-first card.
