Heavyweight contender Michael Hunter (20-1-2, 14 KOs) is set to make his return at the Memorial Auditorium in Lowell against 6’10” Donnie Palmer (12-3-1, 10 KOs). The fight marks Hunter’s return after several fights fell through, leaving him and his fans in a state of frustration.
Hunter, 34, has had an illustrious past with his decisive win over Marin Bakole in 2018 and a draw against Alexander Povetkin in 2019. With the upcoming bout, he aims to re-establish his momentum. Conversely, his opponent Palmer is coming off a loss to Steve Vukosa earlier in 2023.
The fight on June 24 appears heavily tilted in Hunter’s favor, considering his past performance and Palmer’s recent defeat. This could be the push Hunter needs to return to regular boxing activity and chase down compelling fights in the future.
The 34-year-old, who has only been defeated once, by Oleksandr Usyk in a cruiserweight fight, is now eyeing more significant heavyweight fights and ultimately, a world title.
In the co-feature, William Silva (30-4, 18 KOs) will fight against Raul Chirino (22-16, 13 KOs) in a 10 rounds lightweight clash.
