Christy Martin Promotions rolls into the Nashville Fairgrounds Arena on 2 August with a featherweight crossroads battle topping a Millions.co PPV. El Paso-Kenner puncher Victor Hernández (14-0, 12 KOs) puts his perfect slate - and his growing reputation as a seek-and-destroy body attacker - on the line against slick Cincinnati stylist Jayvon Garnett (10-2, 5 KOs) in a ten-round main event.
Hernández, 31, turned pro in 2021 and has left all but two opponents on the canvas, blending classic Mexican pressure with heavy hands. Garnett, 30, has boxed the tougher schedule - dropping competitive ten-round decisions to Luis Reynaldo Núñez and Gregory Morales - and believes his footwork and counter-punching will tame the Tex-Mex storm. For both men, the stakes are clear: Hernández can kick down the door to the fringe world rankings; Garnett must halt a two-fight skid to keep his contender dreams alive.
The chief support features undefeated Queens prospect Djibril Diakité (10-0, 8 KOs) against veteran spoiler Cleotis “Mookie” Pendarvis (22-24-2, 9 KOs) over eight at super-middleweight. At six feet tall and blessed with raw power, 25-year-old Diakité has stopped four straight, but the crafty southpaw Pendarvis—who once sparred Antonio Margarito for the Pacquiao bout - has derailed more than one prospect since debuting in 2004.
