All Star Boxing is set to close out the year with a bang on November 29th at the Centro de Combates in Panama City, Panama. The main event will see flyweight contender Cristian "Chicharito" Gonzalez (15-2-1, 5 KOs) from Mexico City square off against local favorite and former world title challenger Leroy "El Sensacional" Estrada (18-4, 8 KOs) in a 10-round battle, streaming live on ESPN Knockout across Latin America.
President Tuto Zabala Jr. shared his excitement, stating, "This is a solid matchup. Gonzalez will have his hands full with Estrada, and it’s exactly the type of fight that fans love. We’ve had a great year, and we’re looking forward to building on this momentum heading into 2025."
For Gonzalez, this fight is crucial as he seeks to regain momentum after his hard-fought battle against Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez for the WBO Flyweight title earlier this year. Gonzalez held his own against Rodriguez, even breaking his jaw with a short uppercut in the 6th round. Despite the injury, he finished all 12 rounds, displaying his resilience and boxing IQ.
Estrada, on the other hand, is coming off a confidence-boosting 2nd-round knockout of Colombian prospect Ruben Mendoza in June. The Panama City native now has the chance to shine in front of his home crowd. A victory for either fighter could secure a Top 15 ranking spot in one of the major sanctioning bodies, adding even more at stake for both men.
In the co-main event, Eveling "La Colocha" Ortega (8-5, 2 KOs), ranked WBA #2 and WBO #4, faces Susana "Gavidia" Panameño (4-2, 1 KO) in a much-anticipated trilogy match for the WBO Latino junior flyweight title. Ortega, who has been training at high altitude in Mexico City, aims to leave no doubt after two razor-close encounters with Panameño.
