Chris "Primetime" Colbert (17-2, 6 KOs) is set to headline ProBox TV's "Wednesday Night Fights" series on October 9, as he takes on Omar Salcido (19-1, 13 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout. The fight will take place at the ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida, and marks a pivotal moment in Colbert’s career as he aims to bounce back from recent setbacks.

This event was postponed for a week and is now set to occur on October 16th. The cause is the incoming Hurricane Milton, which is why the founder and CEO of ProBox Garry Jonas and his team with the approval of the Florida State Boxing Commission decided to reschedule the event.

Colbert, 27, from Brooklyn, New York, has lost two of his last three fights and will be looking to revive his once-promising career. In his most recent outing in December, Colbert was knocked out in the sixth round by Jose Valenzuela in their rematch. This loss came nine months after Colbert had controversially defeated Valenzuela by unanimous decision in their first meeting. Valenzuela capitalized on his win over Colbert to secure a title shot against Isaac Cruz, claiming the WBA 140-pound title in August. Colbert's only other career defeat came at the hands of former 135-pound champion Hector Luis Garcia in February 2022.

Salcido, a 24-year-old Mexican fighter now based in California, is also looking to build momentum. He last fought in December, securing an eight-round decision win over Luis Coria. Before that, he made his U.S. debut on a ProBox TV card in October, where he lost a unanimous decision to Jose Nunez.

The card will also feature several exciting matchups, including Mongolian Olympian Tsendbaatar Erdenebat (10-0, 5 KOs), who will face Frency Fortunato (15-1, 11 KOs) in a 10-round junior lightweight contest. Erdenebat will be making his third consecutive appearance on a ProBox TV card.

Other notable bouts include David Navarro (6-1, 3 KOs) taking on Mykell Gamble (7-0, 4 KOs) in an eight-round featherweight fight and the return of undefeated light heavyweight prospect Najee Lopez (11-0, 8 KOs).
