Chris Billam-Smith is set to defend his WBO World Cruiserweight Title against Richard Riakporhe in a compelling all-British clash at Selhurst Park, the home of Crystal Palace F.C. This highly anticipated matchup will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK and Ireland and on Peacock in the USA.
Billam-Smith, currently holding the WBO 200-pound title, is preparing for his second title defense against the only man to have bested him in his professional career, the undefeated Riakporhe. The fight is not only a mandatory title defense but also a chance for Billam-Smith to avenge his earlier loss to Riakporhe from their bout back in July 2019, which was a closely contested split decision.

Both fighters have shown significant growth since their last encounter. Billam-Smith claimed the WBO title with a tight victory over Lawrence Okolie and is eager to erase the sole blemish on his record. Riakporhe, nicknamed "The Midnight Train", is viewed by many as one of the top cruiserweight contenders in the UK. He has proven his prowess with five consecutive stoppage victories and is confident in his ability to inflict damage once again.

The first fight between these two went the distance, but the rematch promises even more excitement. Riakporhe is favored to win, and Billam-Smith, known as "The Gentleman", must demonstrate he's hard to hit, unlike in his fight with Mateusz Maternak.
In the co-main event, Ben Whittaker (7-0, 5 KOs) is set to face Eworitse Ezra Arenyeka (12-0, 10 KOs).
Whittaker, an undefeated British fighter with a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has been criticized by Arenyeka for his showboating in the ring. Arenyeka has vowed to knock Whittaker out, calling his opponent's behavior "silly" and "like a kid." He expressed confidence in his ability to handle Whittaker's antics and promised to deliver a knockout blow during their match.

Arenyeka, reflecting on his own showboating past, stated that he has matured as a fighter and believes Whittaker has yet to grow up. He is confident that he can expose Whittaker's weaknesses and secure a decisive victory:
"If he tries to do that with me, I will show him the level and make him look silly," Arenyeka said.
Also in the card, Isaac Chamberlain (16-2, 8 KOs) takes on Jack Massey (21-2, 12 KOs) for the vacant European and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles in an all-English showdown.
Chamberlain, 30, had earned his mandatory challenger status for the European title following a decisive victory over London rival Mikael Lawal for the British and Commonwealth titles in October 2023.
Jack Massey, 31, the former IBO cruiserweight champion, earned his shot at the European title after a first-round stoppage of Steve Eloundou at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool in January.
BOXXER CEO and founder Ben Shalom expressed excitement about the matchup:
”We now have another cruiserweight battle of Britain confirmed for our historic event at Selhurst Park as Isaac Chamberlain and Jack Massey clash for the European and Commonwealth titles.”
