Born on 16 October 1980, Olanrewaju Durodola is a Nigerian professional boxer who has made significant contributions to the sport. Holding the African cruiserweight title since February 2020 and previously the WBC Silver cruiserweight title from 2015 to 2016, Durodola's prowess in the ring is undeniable. His journey began as an amateur, where he competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2009 World Championships in the heavyweight category. Despite facing a countback loss to Camille Michel of Seychelles at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Durodola's determination saw him qualify for the Olympics, where he faced Cuban Osmay Acosta.
Durodola's reputation for knockout power, even during his amateur days, set him apart from many of his peers. This strength became even more evident when he turned professional in 2011. Although his debut match in Kansas City was canceled due to his opponent's last-minute withdrawal, Durodola quickly rose to prominence in subsequent years. By 2013, he had clinched the WBC Continentals Americas Cruiser Weight Championship title and the WBC Silver Cruiserweight champion title.
