Biography

Erickson "The Hammer" Lubin is an American professional boxer from Orlando, Florida, known for his explosive power, resilience, and technical southpaw style. Born to Haitian parents on October 1, 1995, Lubin built a standout amateur record of 143–7, highlighted by a national Golden Gloves win in 2013. He was widely expected to represent the U.S. in the 2016 Olympics but chose to turn professional early, debuting in 2013 at just 18 years old.

Lubin made a rapid ascent through the pro ranks, winning 17 straight fights and earning a title eliminator against Jorge Cota, whom he stopped in four rounds. That win secured him a shot at WBC super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo in 2017. In one of the division’s most shocking moments, Lubin was knocked out in the first round by a brutal uppercut. While the loss was devastating, it became a turning point in his career. He returned with renewed focus, winning fights against quality opponents like Nathaniel Gallimore, Terrell Gausha, and former world champion Jeison Rosario, the latter of whom he stopped in a WBC eliminator.

His 2022 war with Sebastian Fundora became a defining moment, earning praise despite a punishing ninth-round corner retirement. Lubin showed grit by knocking Fundora down, but the bout ended with his face severely swollen, and his corner wisely halted the fight. In 2023, he bounced back with a controversial unanimous decision win over then-undefeated prospect Jesus Ramos Jr., further reigniting his standing in the division.
