Biography

Arnold Khegai (born 6 March 1992) is a Ukrainian professional boxer of Korean descent who competes in the featherweight division. Known by his nickname “Arni”, Khegai is recognized for his compact power, aggressive pressure style, and durability, attributes that have made him one of the most consistent Eastern European fighters in the lower weight classes.

Born in Odesa, Ukraine, and of mixed Korean heritage, Khegai began his athletic journey through kickboxing and Muay Thai before transitioning to boxing in his early twenties. His combat sports background gave him a dynamic edge as he entered the professional ranks, debuting on October 28, 2015, with a first-round technical knockout victory over Chyngyz Akhmat Uulu in Moscow, Russia. From the outset, Khegai demonstrated formidable punching power and an aggressive forward-moving stance that became hallmarks of his style.

Khegai compiled an unbeaten streak through his first 16 professional bouts, earning regional recognition with victories over fighters such as Adam Lopez, Jorge Diaz, and Vladimir Tikhonov. His success led to an opportunity to face the undefeated American Stephen Fulton for the WBO Inter-Continental super bantamweight title in January 2020 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Despite a competitive showing, Khegai lost by unanimous decision, marking the first defeat of his professional career.

Following the Fulton bout, Khegai continued to rebuild his record with notable wins over Eduardo Baez, Belmar Preciado, and Joet Gonzalez, competing regularly in the United States and Europe. In 2024, he relocated to Los Angeles, California, to train full-time while pursuing a renewed campaign at featherweight. His 2025 victory over Liborio Solis in Berlin, followed by a scheduled WBO World Featherweight title challenge against Rafael Espinoza set for November 15, 2025, marked a return to the elite level of the division.
